-
Build the square cabinet
Print at 100%; check the 50 mm ruler. Cut each part once. Use 200-240 gsm card. C1 is the 100 x 100 mm bottom; C2 front, C3 right, C4 rear, C5 left, C6 top. Score every tab hinge. Fold the 4 mm laps inward 90 degrees and glue under matching panel edges. Build walls around C1, close vertical seams, then fit C6 at height 32 mm. Hold square and dry fully. Coordinates for later placements: front y=-50, right x=50; all distances in mm.
-
Laminate the fixed record
Glue P flat on C6 with center 58 mm from the left edge and 38 mm from the front edge. Glue R concentrically onto P, then L onto R. Diameters are 64, 58 and 18 mm. These are face-glued paper layers, not a spinning turntable. The preview omits their thickness.
-
Build and mount the horn column
Assemble S1-S6 as a closed 14 x 14 x 38 mm column using its 3.5 mm laps, folded 90 degrees inward. S1 is the bottom and S6 the top. Coat the entire S1 underside with glue. Mount on C6: left edge 11 mm from cabinet left, front edge 71 mm from cabinet front. The footprint is x=-39 to -25, y=21 to 35; top height is 70 mm. Dry upright before loading.
-
Form the supported box elbow
E1 and E2 are the L-shaped cheeks. Join them with E3-E7 in boundary order: bottom, inner upright, inner horizontal, top, outer upright. Fold 3 mm laps inward 90 degrees. Leave the square outlet at x=-12 open. Glue the full 14 x 14 mm E3 bottom onto S6. Match x=-39 to -25 and y=21 to 35 exactly. Elbow rises to z=98; outlet center is (x=-12,y=28,z=91). Let both column and elbow joints dry before adding the horn.
-
Assemble the two-stage flared horn
H1-H4 form the throat stage; H5-H8 form the bell, in bottom, rear, top, front order. Join the 3 mm side laps beneath adjacent faces, then join H1 to H5, H2 to H6, H3 to H7, H4 to H8 using the intermediate rim laps. Keep the mouth open. Throat is 14 mm square, middle is 30 mm square 22 mm forward, mouth is 76 mm square another 42 mm forward. Each face remains flat. Match the rims rather than forcing every hinge to 90 degrees. Leave throat laps free until mounting.
-
Seat the horn on the elbow
Fold the four small throat laps back onto the outside of the elbow outlet walls and glue over a 3 mm depth. Throat corners exactly meet x=-12, y=21/35, z=84/98. Horn axis is horizontal toward cabinet right; mouth plane is x=52 and center is y=28,z=91. Support the bell by hand while the seam dries. The supplied column and elbow carry the horn; no invisible wire or floating support is intended. Do not lift the model by its horn.
-
Attach the fixed crank shaft
Assemble A1-A6 into an 18 x 6 x 6 mm closed beam; fold its 1.5 mm laps inward 90 degrees. Glue the entire A5 end face onto cabinet right wall C3 at y=-3 to 3, z=17 to 23. Its center is 50 mm back from the cabinet front and 20 mm above the base. Dry horizontally.
-
Add the crank drop
Build B1-B6 as a 6 x 6 x 12 mm box using 1.5 mm inward laps. Glue its complete B6 top onto the outermost 6 x 6 mm area under A1, x=62 to 68, y=-3 to 3, z=17. The lower end stops 5 mm above the tabletop. Let dry without twisting.
-
Fit the static crank grip
Build G1-G6 as a 12 x 6 x 6 mm box with 1.5 mm inward laps. Glue the full G5 end onto the bottom 6 x 6 mm of B3 at x=68, y=-3 to 3, z=5 to 11. The grip ends at x=80. All crank joints are glued permanently; do not turn them. Allow the complete display to dry on a flat surface before handling.
Notes
The 3D model shows each piece in its finished, idealized shape; the exploded view only spreads the pieces apart. It is not a paper-physics simulation: curved shapes are forming guides, not exact physical folding or proof of developability, and intermediate fold shapes are not supplied.
- Original planar-panel construction with exact rigid folded laps; no curved-surface stretching.
- Static decorative display only: no sound mechanism, stylus, motor or playable record; crank does not turn.
- Paper and adhesive thickness are omitted. Record layers and glued contact faces coincide geometrically; physical thickness and crease allowances require trial assembly.
- All supports and tabs are supplied. Dry the cabinet, column and elbow before mounting the bell. Physical print/cut/assembly verification pending.
